On Oct. 22nd, 2009, after attending the 20th China-Japan-Korea Workshop for Fisheries Scientific Researcher in Beijing, the delegations of Japan and Korea visited SOUTH CHINA SEA FISHERIES RESEARCH INSTITUTE (SCSFRI) to jointly hold a workshop on fisheries resources conservation and healthy aquaculture.
In the workshop, Prof. Guo Genxi, Prof. Chen Pimao and Associate Prof. Zhu Changbo from SOUTH CHINA SEA FISHERIES RESEARCH INSTITUTE (SCSFRI) made reports on "equipment, technology and future development of aquaculture", "research progress in marine ranching in South China Sea", and "Application of a management model for shrimp culture in aquaculture of 3 shrimps of South China", respectively. The reports aroused heated discussions among the representatives.
Technical Officer of Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation of Japan, Mr. Masaki made a speech on behalf of Japanese and Korean delegations. He spoke highly of the outstanding contribution of SCSFRI in world marine fisheries, showing great interests in the achievement of net cage technology of SCSFRI and the possible cooperation in this field.
This China-Japan-Korea workshop was held in Guangzhou successfully, which promotes the sustainable use of international fishery resources as well as the technical cooperation among China, Japan and Korea in fisheries.
